September 5, 2007 Special Award
A putting contest was held as part of the August 22 meeting. (see Program Archives)
The club brought in a special crown from out of town (at great expense-you know gas is $3 a gallon) to recognize the winner of the contest.
Shown below is winner, Doug Cripe, receiving an additional prize from Wilma Shackleton.
Doug was quoted as saying:
"Never in my life did I expect to win something in golf."
Doug, it is probably a good idea to hold on to the camera and put down the golf club.
First it was a cookie baking contest and now the putting contest. What will be next for Doug? Keep checking for future Rotary Club contests.
