Tony Crane had the opportunity through his local church to participate in a mission to Haiti in 2005. He was able to describe the harsh conditions that he found there with the worst being the fear of being kidnapped. The goal of his group was to work in a local private school. The original maximum enrollment of 220 had swelled to 260. The cost per student, $200 a year, was a huge sum for people who had to pay $10 for a cup of beans. To have an opportunity to attend any school in Haiti is rare, so the Attica group did all they could to help pay for scholarships. While there, Tony thought he could do more, so he asked the local pastor if he would help his two daughters become exchange students and live with Tony's family in Indiana. For the next two years, Tony, his wife Annette, and his children hosted Whitney and Tarah while they attended Attica Jr. Sr. High School. This was a great learning experience for all. |
