In
1996 Marguarite Starkey Smith Norman left $5,000 to the Attica-Williamsport
Rotary Club in honor of her late husband, Harvey Norman. In 2003-2004 the
Board of Directors voted to use the earnings from the CD and established the
Educator Assistance Award for an elementary teacher at Attica Elementary and
there is a plaque with the winners in the AES Office. In 2005-2006 the BOD
expanded the Educator Assistance Award to include the Warren County
Elementary Schools. This year there were three recipients- Stephanie Larch
from Warren Central Elementary, Barbara Richardson from Pine Village
Elementary, and Brenda McIntosh from Williamsport Elementary. At today's
meeting they each reported to the club how they were going to use the grant
in their classrooms.
