Kelly Pearson, shown above, a Purdue University Extension Educator assigned to Warren County, (>>More)  addressed the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club on "Pond Problems and How to Deal with Them." Her suggestions were largely strategy techniques. In ridding the ponds of plant life one must address the trouble without compounding it. Pruning too vigorously will eliminate the viable source of nutrients making a viable animal and vegetable life become problematic. Lack of plant life will result in the depletion of oxygen in the pond and animal life will be eliminated. Pruning too little brings about the same difficulty. She suggested several techniques for the control of weeds by controlling their spread through mechanical methods, habitat alteration, aeration, and biological control.

Judy and David Hollander reported on having visited a Canadian Rotary Club at the Toronto Beaches where there was a mutual sharing of ideas for club activities.

Bob Geyer, club president, reminded members of the Change Over meeting scheduled for 14 June, at 6:30 P. M., to be held at the Beef House. Members are asked to make the plan committee aware of their plans to attend.

Rotary members were also invited to serve as waiters at this years Attica High School Alumni meeting in June. Those interested should make Mr. Geyer or Donna Tiger aware of their willingness to assist in this event.
