This is the first anniversary of the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club website. If you look in the Program Archives you will find that the November 2, 2005 program was the first posted to the site. Please look back at the great programs provided this past year. November 1, 2006 In an attempt to get acquainted with new members it has become a tradition to have them tell a bit about themselves at a meeting. This week Lisa Rainwater shared some of her thoughts and dreams about her life. Lisa became a Rotarian on October 4 at the Zone 30 meeting at the Beef House. She actually sought out our Rotary club because she had heard about the good things Rotary does and wanted to be a part of an organization like that. Great tribute to the ideals of Rotary.
Lisa started her life in Lafayette in 1969 and must have had the culture of the early '70's imprinted upon her as an infant because on her dream board she displayed she had a picture of a VW Bus and a VW Bug. She hoped to own both at some future point in her life. They are "cute" but she should take a course in VW repair before buying. A log cabin was also on her dream board. She lives South of Attica with her family in the "McCauley" house and hopes that in another 20 or 30 years it might be known as the "Rainwater" house. She returned to school after marriage and is an accountant for C&D Technologies, Inc in Attica. Her hobby in selling on EBay. She has a dream of ending world poverty and has become involved with the Pine Ridge Reservation as a step toward that goal. She and her family are planning to make the trip next July to the reservation and build beds for those who are in need. As always, it is best to provide you a link (below) to Pine Ridge instead of trying to tell the story in a short space. We welcome Lisa and look forward to her becoming an integral part of the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club. Please visit the website for the friends of Pine Ridge Reservation >>>MORE |
