Recent programs and events: May 31, 2006 “Nihao.” Haung, Li-Ting said as she greeted with her “hello” the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club in her native language when she addressed them this past Wednesday morning. An ambassadorial scholar from Formosa, Ella, as her friends call her, described her country and its customs to the early morning group of Rotarians. She identifies her efforts not only to achieve certain education goals, but also to do what she can for the purpose of international understanding and promotion of peace. She is shown above with Rotarian John Bush preparing for her part of the program. In other business, it was announced that Rotarians, identified by their blue Rotary shirts, will act as waiters for the Attica High School Alumni Banquet to be held on 10 June. Mr. Geyer also announced the change over meeting to be held at the Beef House on 14 June, the speaker of the evening to relate “Secrets of the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club.” Rotarians will also act as hosts for the Mayor’s Dinner when recognizes the retirement of Senator Joseph Harrison on Saturday, 24 June, in the foyer of the Attica High School Auditorium. Members were reminded that Friday, June 9, was the last day for making reservations for the Mayor’s Dinner. “Zaijian,” as Li-Ting said in concluding her presentation. |
