Robert Geyer, now immediate past president of the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club, started off the events of the Change Over Celebration, on Wednesday evening at the Beef House Banquet Room. The first of his last official acts was to recognize Bob Wright of the Beef House organization with a special award recognizing Mr. Wright's cooperation and Rotary's appreciation for that support. Dinner was served to a group of 50 persons which including District Governor Nominee Tom Fisher and Mrs. Fisher; Paul Raikes of the Indianapolis Rotary Club and Mrs. Raikes; Salim Najjar, Group Study Exchange Chair and President Elect of the Carmel, Indiana club; Larry Price, Assistant governor from the Frankford club and Mrs. Price; and two Ambassadorial Scholars Li Tin Huang and Aaron Munson. Paul Raikes presented the program entitled, The Secrets of the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club. Several members were recognized for their work during the past year including Charles Terrill of West Lebanon who was recognized for his long membership in the club and for the dedication he has demonstrated during those years. John Bush, Doug Cripe, and Harold Long received certificates for their work with the club's publicity. Bob Shepherd presented a report on the local clubs philanthropic giving, especially noting the per capita giving by the membership as well as their response to Paul Harris Fellowship, the successful push of the wheelchair program, the gift of a fire truck, and the 100 percent participation in the Rotary Foundation. In closing out his term of office Mr. Geyer said, "I thank all the members of our club and also non-Rotarian members of our community for the work and support given me during my term in office. The Attica-Williamsport Rotary club is number one in the central Indiana rotary District and rated 159th out of more then 32,000 clubs worldwide. Our year has been successful, because of all of you. It has been fun, and a privilege to serve this club and the communities of Attica-Williamsport. Thank you."
