Rotary District 6560 Governor Bing Pratt and his wife, Suzi, visited the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club

He was happy to report that the Attica-Williamsport Club had been granted a $2,000 grant to plan and build a bridge in Ravine Parke, a bridge that won't be washed away by floods.

The theme for Rotary International this year is to "Lead the Way". District Governor Bing spoke about how Rotary has led the way in dramatically diminishing polio around the world. Other areas of service will be in the areas of health and hunger, water projects, and literacy. District 6560 Rotary, the central Indiana Rotary District, has been active in the Gift of Life project whereby children in great need are brought to Indianapolis for life saving heart surgery. In fact, seventy children have benefited from the program. Next month three children from Iraq will be brought to Indianapolis for heart surgery as part of the Rotary sponsored Gift of Life program.

District Governor Bing is interested in trains. His theme for the Rotary year is "Let's Get on Track" for a great year of Rotary service. As he was introduced to the club, members of the club rose and sang a modified version of "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad" for him. He and Suzi both enjoyed the great hospitality, food, accommodations, and the golf course of Attica.

President Cindy Mason shared with the club that groups are needed to adopt a two mile stretch of highway east of Attica. The club expressed interest and willingness to do so.

The club will have Macy's gift cards available soon for the community.

Next week, July 26, Aaron Munson, Ambassadorial Scholar, will be sharing his presentation that he will be using in Kenya.

Do not forget the King Tut Exhibit visit coming up on August 2.  All should have received directions and instructions.
