Pam Bowen, founder and owner of Wild About Horses, presented the program. She gave us some background on her move to the area and the starting of the Equestrian Center. Learning to ride and care for a horse touches upon many of the experiences needed to be a thoughtful, responsible and caring person. Karen McDonald also provided some insight into the world of an "adult student" at Wild About Horses". The perception that beginning riding students are kids was dispelled by Karen. As an educator she was able to share with us, and also her students in her classroom, the valuable learning experiences connected with the care of a horse. She would be pleased to share if you ask. Might also ask her how far it is to the ground from the saddle.
