In one of her return visits to the Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club, Carol Clark presented an ambitious update on what was going on with the Industrial Park. Armed with facts, figures, and fliers, she presented a report on the grants received and what was happening with the money received. Workforce development training was a recurring theme, consistent with the continuing growth and complexity of technology. It is essential that marketable people have marketable skills. This then is a basic need in helping businesses become successful. They have goals, hopes that will go to improve the employment picture of Warren County, including the establishment of a countywide Chamber, economic gardening, and the availability of a ready site for interested businesses. In April, the plan for a Business Expo is well underway. Seminars on health insurance and information to make businesses more competitive are essential to local prosperity. In other business, Dan Askren was appointed to be Rotary's representative to the City Planning Committee for the Senator Harrison Commemorative efforts. Special Release February 16 President Geyer also reported that he and Carolyn Paulson met with Warren County School Superintendent Terry Roderick to discuss the Educator Assistance Awards to teachers in Warren County and available through Rotary. This effort, already in place in Attica is being extended into the Warren school system. There is no special program for next week but the club will meet in assembly to discuss issues pertinent to their mission. ________________________ Suzann Shackleton is
