Egypt Pictures ___________________________ Matt Williams, of Lafayette, is a former Ambassadorial Scholar and is shown above visiting with Robert Geyer III of Shererville, Indiana, who was present for Wednesday's meeting. On a return visit from Hong Kong and China, Matt shared his experiences in attending Chinese University where he studied language. He also spent time in Hong Kong with the local YMCA, an organization that services large numbers of Chinese youngsters. While in Hong Kong, he connected with Habitat for Humanity on the mainland. The process required a close association with the Chinese government. While presently in the United States, he will return to China serving in an advisory capacity on a long-term basis. _____________________ Kathy Turpin reported on the Rotary's Christmas project, indicating that thirty-three outfits were purchased and distributed.
President Gyer
reported that Carolyn Paulson of Williamsport was selected to fill a vacancy
on the Board of Directors as an interim director for the remainder
of the club year.
Suzann Shackleton
reported that Abbey Hatcher is returning from Capt Town South Africa and will
report at the 04 January meeting on her experiences there as an Ambassadorial
Scholar.
It was also
reported that Angela Rush would present her farewell program in February.
Members were
reminded that the local club would celebrate its 68th anniversary with a
dinner at the Beef House on 22
