August 7 and 8, 2007

Visit by District Governor Jim Graham

Two special events occurred this week.

The Attica/Williamsport Rotary Club was honored to have as a special guest, Jim Graham, the District Governor.  He was accompanied by his wife, Roberta, and the Assistant District Governor, Larry Price.

On Tuesday evening, the Board of Directors and the chairmen of all committees met with Jim, Roberta, and Larry at the lovely home of Carolyn Paulson.  The hostess greeted the Rotarians with the news that the electric power was off. Not to be deterred, President Priscilla Davis called the meeting to order and it proceeded.  About two hours later, when power was restored, a marvelous dinner was served by the committee. A memorable evening was enjoyed by all!

August 8, 2007 club meeting

At the club meeting at the Harrison Hills Country Club, Jim used a power point program to present his goals for the district and for the Attica/Williamsport Club.  The major goal for all of Rotary is to increase membership so that the beneficial work of the organization can continue.  This, he said, is not the time to falter when the goals, especially of Polio Eradication, are so close.  It was announced that Carolyn Paulson had already obtained a new member and other Rotarians were encouraged to invite as a guest someone waiting to be asked.
The next regular meeting will be August 15 at which time there will be a club assembly, so there will not be a guest speaker.

There was also a special birthday.
