G. Holger Hansen and his wife Anne In September 2003 Hogie Hansen became Manager of the Fund Development Division of The Rotary Foundation in Evanston. In that role he is responsible for managing the staff that supports the efforts of Rotary clubs and districts worldwide in raising funds for the Annual Programs Fund and the Permanent Fund. The Division is also responsible for recording and acknowledging contributions and for administering donor recognition programs. Born in Corning, NY, Hogie grew up in West Hartford, CT. He graduated from Earlham College and Yale Divinity School and served United Methodist churches in Connecticut for several years before embarking on a career in higher education. He served over 32 years in educational fundraising positions at colleges in Indiana and Pennsylvania, most recently at Haverford College. A Rotarian since 1977, Hogie is a member of the Rotary Club of Ardmore, PA and served as its President in 1990-91. He was Governor of District 7450 (Philadelphia area) in 1993-94 and has chaired the district's Rotary Foundation, Nominating, Extension and PEFC Committees. He has served as a National Advisor for the Permanent Fund, as a consultant to the Fund Development Committee of the Trustees, and as chair of several Zone 32 committees and task forces. He has represented four RI President's at district conferences and district 7450 at the 1998 Council on Legislation. He is a recipient of the Citation for Meritorious Service, the Distinguished Service Award of The Rotary Foundation, and the Service Above Self Award. His wife Anne is a member of The Rotary Club of Swarthmore, PA. Anne and Hogie currently attend the Evanston Lighthouse Club, where they have been named honorary members. They have three children and six grandchildren. They led polio immunization teams to District 9220 in Madagascar in 1999 and to District 3010 in India in 2001. Anne also participated in the February 2004 NID in Calcutta, India. They are Paul Harris Fellows, Benefactors, and Major Donors. In July 2006 Hogie and Anne will return to their home in Swarthmore, PA, and Hogie will begin a volunteer assignment as RRFC for Zone 32. |
