2008 District 6560 Speech Contest. Attica results
PRESS RELEASE Elizabeth Trueblood, a sophomore at Attica Sr. High School, won the local speech contest sponsored by the Rotary Club of Attica-Williamsport and was eligible to compete in the annual Rotary District 6560 Speech Contest held March 15, 2008, at Ball State University in Muncie. Elizabeth won the $500 district contest first prize with the $250 second prize being won by Jaima Combs, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Anderson. Jennifer Davis, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Danville, won $100 for third place. Seven contestants participated and delivered memorized speeches of five to seven minutes on the topic “Service Above Self.” Elizabeth will give her speech again at the Rotary District Conference on May 3, 2008. Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps building goodwill and peace in the world.
